Six Point Fortin teenagers—ages ranging from 14 to 18 years—have been arrested for the offences of shop breaking and larceny.
According to official police reports, at about 6:30 pm on Friday 19th June 2020, a 33-year-old woman locked and secured the Noel Mini Mart, located at Warden Road, New Village, Point Fortin. She returned around 2:03 am on Saturday 20th June 2020 and found the place broken into.
Checks revealed several items to be missing, including a number of snacks and cigarettes.
An investigation was launched in the district by Point Fortin police officers, between the hours of 8:00 am and midday on Saturday 20th June 2020.
The police probe led to the arrest of six male teens—three aged 14 years, two aged 17 years and one aged 18 years—all of the Point Fortin district.
The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt Cooper and Inspector (Ag) Jaggernath and supervised by Sgt Ali. It included members of Point Fortin Criminal Investigations Department.
