The Fantasy is over.
Fantasy Carnival will not produce a band for next year's Carnival, the band announced on Thursday.
In a statement titled, "Farewell to the Road", Fantasy thanked masqueraders for their support over the last eight years.
"For the last 8 years Fantasy Carnival has become a household name in Mas in Trinidad and Tobago," the statement said.
It added: "After much consideration, the management of the band has decided to shift their focus to other projects, as such, we're saying Farewell to the Road!"
The band thanked its designers, sponsors, disc jockeys, committee members, section performers, management team, staff and masqueraders in the statement.
"It's been an awesome adventure, and don't worry the Fantasy Brand will always be a part of the Carnival Experience even if it's not on the road," the statement said, adding, "Thanks for living the Fantasy!"
Fantasy Carnival has been one of the big names in Carnival for the better part of the last decade, attracting several big names, including soca king Machel Montano, who joined Tribe last year.
Fantasy's sister band, Entice will launch on Saturday night.
