The following is a press release from the MET office:
The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has been closely monitoring a Tropical Wave, which is currently traversing the Lesser Antilles.
Showers and thunderstorms remain disorganized with this system and the chance of development into a Tropical Cyclone over the next 24 to 48 hours is still low (10%). The system is moving west near 24 km/hr.
The tropical wave has become more disorganized overnight as it began to encounter an unfavourable upper-level environment, and most showers and thunderstorms are being produced well east of centre. The potential for development of this system will remain low, as strong upper-level winds should prohibit further development. Regardless of development, activity associated with this system will still likely produce locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds mainly across portions of the central and northern Lesser Antilles today.
