Thousands of customers across north, central and south Trinidad will face temporary water disruptions on Thursday night due to emergency maintenance at the Caroni Water Treatment Plant.
In a media release issued yesterday, the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) announced that the shutdown will take place between 8 pm and midnight on July 24.
The authority said the outage was necessary to carry out urgent electrical maintenance at the facility.
The affected areas span a wide geographic region, from as far north as Cascade to far south as Penal.

Saddle Road, San Juan; Laventille Road; Febeau Village; Malick; Barataria; Morvant; East Dry River; Port-of-Spain; St Barbs; Gonzales; Bagatelle; Success Village, Laventille; Trou Macaque; St Ann’s; Cascade; Dibe; Long Circular; St James; Cocorite; and Belmont.
Central and
South Trinidad
Piarco; Cunupia; Chaguanas; Lange Park; Felicity; Caroni Savannah Road; Bank Village; Carapichaima; Mc Bean; Windsor Park; Claxton Bay; City of San Fernando; Caroni North and South Bank Road; Endeavour; Jerningham Road; Longdenville; California; Korea Village; Waterloo; St Mary’s; Couva; Esperanza; Marabella, La Romain; Phillipine; Debe; Siparia; Palmiste; Woodland; Penal; and Fyzabad.
WASA has warned that while the shutdown will last for four hours, it may take up to 12 hours after completion for the water supply to fully return to normal in some areas.
