A targeted anti-crime operation in the Southern Division on Friday led to the arrest of three suspects as police ramped up efforts to tackle violent and drug-related offences.
The four-hour exercise ran from midday to 4pm in the Princes Town Police District and focused on known offenders linked to firearm offences, robberies, shootings, woundings and the drug trade.
During the sweep, officers arrested a 41-year-old man from Solomon Street, Cedar Hill, after they allegedly found 11.4 grammes of cocaine and 21 rounds of 9mm ammunition. He is also expected to face ID parades for a robbery and a larceny in the Southwestern Division.
Two other suspects were also held for robbery and firearm-related matters.
Police say the operation formed part of a wider crime suppression plan in the division, supported by intelligence gathering, surveillance and targeted searches in identified hot spots.
