Three men were ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with a rob­bery that took place at the Suarez Broth­ers Cir­cus, En­deav­our Av­enue, Ch­agua­nas, on Oc­to­ber 29.

In a re­lease yes­ter­day, the T&T Po­lice Ser­vice (TTPS) com­mend­ed of­fi­cers who par­tic­i­pat­ed in the in­tel­li­gence-led op­er­a­tion in Ch­agua­nas, which took place be­tween 6.15 pm and 10.15 pm on Sat­ur­day.

Dur­ing the ex­er­cise, of­fi­cers of the Ch­agua­nas CID ar­rest­ed three male sus­pects, aged 20 to 32, of Clax­ton Bay, in con­nec­tion with the in­ci­dent.

On Oc­to­ber 29 at 8.10 pm, Ruben Suarez, along with oth­er em­ploy­ees, was at the cir­cus site at En­deav­our Av­enue, Ch­agua­nas, when four gun­men in a white Nis­san B15 drove in and be­gan shoot­ing.

The cir­cus had just con­clud­ed its last show and per­son­nel were al­ready packed and await­ing trans­port to leave the coun­try for Ja­maica.

Po­lice said Suarez was about to pay em­ploy­ees when the gun­men robbed him of his pass­port and oth­er per­son­al doc­u­ments, along with $30,000 in cash. 

Two em­ploy­ees were al­so robbed of $2,800.
