Three teenagers were in­jured dur­ing a shoot­ing along Ari­api­ta Av­enue, Wood­broook, yes­ter­day morn­ing.

The trio, one man and two women, all aged 17, sus­tained non-life-threat­en­ing in­juries dur­ing the in­ci­dent at the cor­ner of Al­ber­to Street and Ari­api­ta Av­enue around 6:05 am.

The three were re­port­ed­ly lim­ing in a near­by club/bar when a gun­man re­port­ed­ly opened fire on them at them on the side of the road. The male vic­tim was re­port­ed­ly shot in the but­tocks, while one woman was shot in the right an­kle, and the sec­ond sus­tained a graze on the right shin.

The mo­tive for the in­ci­dent re­mained un­clear up to yes­ter­day. The two women were tak­en to the St James In­fir­mary while the man was tak­en to the Port-of-Spain Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal.

The women were treat­ed and re­leased from hos­pi­tal yes­ter­day, while the man was treat­ed and ward­ed in a sta­ble con­di­tion. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing. –An­na-Lisa Paul
