Tobago registered its fourth murder for 2026 after gunshots rang out in the capital around 7 pm last night.
According to reports, Sean Parisienne was walking through Market Square carpark in Scarborough, when a gunman approached and shot him multiple times.
The incident stunned pedestrians and shoppers in the nearby View Port Supermarket.
One man told Guardian Media he heard three shots and initially thought it was fireworks.
Relatives said Parisienne, a father of two, was originally from Argyle but resided in Bacolet.
They described him as “very cool fella,” but noted he had an altercation last November that resulted in him chopping someone.
A sombre mood among relatives turned into shock at the crime scene as a man who was known to them was taken into custody.
A female relative in disbelief shouted the name of the suspect who glanced back at her.
Police placed the suspect in the back of a vehicle while crime-scene investigators nearby took photographs and analysed the scene for evidence.
