Trinidad Publishing Co Ltd (TPC) took the lion's share of the awards at Hilton Trinidad's annual Media Appreciation Brunch at the hotel yesterday. Winning in the Environment category were Guardian's Camille Clarke with her piece, Coastal Degradation, and CNC3's Otto Carrington and Sampson Nanton for their works Jabaru Storks and Turtles at Grand Reviere, respectively.
In the Economic Productivty category, the Guardian was also in winners' row with Cherisse Moe for Fighting Vicious Food Prices and Shaliza Hassanali for US citizen: I just want to go home. Guardian's Michelle Loubon won in the Sport category with We are safe in T&T. Hassanali won another award in the Youth Related Affairs category with A life without hope, while her Sunday Guardian colleague Yvonne Baboolal topped the Tourism category for Spirit lash sends guards running.
