Traffic disruptions on highway this weekend

The Ministry of Works and Transport and Nidco will conduct work on the Curepe interchange this weekend that will result in traffic disruptions.

The Na­tion­al In­fra­struc­ture De­vel­op­ment Com­pa­ny (Nid­co) and the Min­istry of Works and Trans­port are ad­vis­ing of traf­fic dis­rup­tions and tem­po­rary lane clo­sures on the Churchill Roo­sevelt High­way over the week­end.

Ac­cord­ing to a no­tice is­sued by Nid­co and the min­istry, the lane clo­sures will be on both west and east­bound lanes of the high­way.

They are need­ed to fa­cil­i­tate road works on the high­way as part of the Curepe in­ter­change project.

Road works are ex­pect­ed to be­gin on Fri­day on the west­bound lanes be­tween 12 pm and 9 pm.

On Sat­ur­day, the road works will take place on the east­bound lanes be­tween 12 pm and 9 pm.

On Sun­day both east and west­bound lanes will be worked on be­tween 7 am and 5 pm.

Mo­torists and com­muters are ad­vised that two lanes of traf­fic will re­main open at all times, in both di­rec­tions along the high­way.

Both Nid­co and the min­istry are urg­ing com­muters to com­ply with in­struc­tions is­sued by po­lice of­fi­cers on site, to fa­cil­i­tate a safe and or­der­ly flow of traf­fic.

Road users al­so are be­ing en­cour­aged to ob­serve all tem­po­rary di­rec­tion­al sig­nage pro­vid­ed on the ap­proach­es to the site, and to pro­ceed with cau­tion.
