The National Infrastructure Development Company (Nidco) and the Ministry of Works and Transport are advising of traffic disruptions and temporary lane closures on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway over the weekend.
According to a notice issued by Nidco and the ministry, the lane closures will be on both west and eastbound lanes of the highway.
They are needed to facilitate road works on the highway as part of the Curepe interchange project.
Road works are expected to begin on Friday on the westbound lanes between 12 pm and 9 pm.
On Saturday, the road works will take place on the eastbound lanes between 12 pm and 9 pm.
On Sunday both east and westbound lanes will be worked on between 7 am and 5 pm.
Motorists and commuters are advised that two lanes of traffic will remain open at all times, in both directions along the highway.
Both Nidco and the ministry are urging commuters to comply with instructions issued by police officers on site, to facilitate a safe and orderly flow of traffic.
Road users also are being encouraged to observe all temporary directional signage provided on the approaches to the site, and to proceed with caution.
