A Trinidadian was among two killed in a wrong-way crash on the Belt Parkway in New York.
New York police say 52-year-old Winston Ramdeen from Queens, originally from South Trinidad, was driving a black Infiniti eastbound on the westbound lanes.
He swiped several vehicles and then hit a Nissan Sentra head on, causing the deaths of himself and the 79-year-old man driving the Sentra.
Both were pronounced dead at the Brookdale Hospital.
Investigators are still trying to determine how and why the SUV driver started travelling the wrong way, and whether he was under the influence.
