The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has removed T&T and several other international destinations from its Level 4 travel health notices.
The CDC now lists T&T on the "Level 3: High" tier which encourages unvaccinated travellers to get the COVID-19 vaccine before travel. Countries also on the Level 3 tier include Belgium, Canada, Dominica, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Approximately 90 destinations have been downgraded.
The move comes one week after the CDC said it would revise its travel recommendations and rename "Level 4" to "Special Circumstances/Do Not Travel."
According to the CDC, Level 4 travel health notices are now reserved for "special circumstances, such as rapidly escalating case trajectory or extremely high case counts, emergence of a new variant of concern, and healthcare infrastructure collapse."
There are currently no countries at “Level 4.”
T&T was put at Level Four on November 30th, 2021.
