The Trinidad and Tobago Carnival Bands Association (TTCBA) has appointed a new board of Directors following the elections held on May 5, 2023, at Queens Park Savannah.
In a media release, the TTCBA said Mark Ayen was elected as President with unanimous support.
It said Ayen and his newly elected board bring over 75 years of combined industry experience to the table with a mandate to bring the carnival fraternity to meet the industry’s contemporary needs.
Ayen is the current bandleader of Dirty Medics Carnival Group and has previously served as Public Relations Officer.
The newly appointed executive comprises Dr Rosalind Gabriel (Vice-President), Valmiki Maharaj (Public Relations Officer), Stefano Marcano, Joanne Thompson, Tara Bishop and Varma Leo Lakhan.
According to the TTCBA, the board is currently in stakeholder meetings mapping the way forward and the road toward Carnival 2024.
The TTCBA and its executive extended their thanks to its membership and the Mas fraternity and reminded that the office is open for new registration and membership at Room #29, Grand Stand, Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain.
