The Trinidad and To­ba­go Pub­lish­ers and Broad­cast­ers As­so­ci­a­tion (TTP­BA) con­grat­u­lates CNC3 on its 20th an­niver­sary. Af­ter be­gin­ning as a ca­ble news chan­nel in 2005, we quick­ly saw the sta­tion grow in­to a free-to-air tele­vi­sion sta­tion by 2008.

As a sub­sidiary com­pa­ny of Guardian Me­dia Lim­it­ed, CNC3 has al­ways had rep­re­sen­ta­tion on the TTP­BA, with the group as a whole con­tribut­ing to and sup­port­ing the role and de­ci­sions of the TTP­BA. Its of­fer­ings as a tele­vi­sion sta­tion in the form of en­ter­tain­ment, sports and news, added con­sid­er­able val­ue to the broad­cast me­dia land­scape and to its own group, Guardian Me­dia Lim­it­ed.

Like all lega­cy me­dia in Trinidad and To­ba­go, CNC3 has faced sig­nif­i­cant chal­lenges that come with a con­stant­ly evolv­ing me­dia land­scape. They have adapt­ed well to ac­com­mo­date the turn to­wards so­cial me­dia plat­forms by its pub­lic, for news, even with the chal­lenge of the in­abil­i­ty to mon­e­tise dig­i­tal con­tent.

CNC3 has shown that it is ca­pa­ble of nav­i­gat­ing a me­dia en­vi­ron­ment that is AI-dri­ven, with mis­in­for­ma­tion and deep fakes that threat­en the pub­lic’s trust.

The Board of Di­rec­tors and mem­bers of the TTP­BA take this op­por­tu­ni­ty to wish CNC3, its man­age­ment and staff, many more years of suc­cess in me­dia as a news and en­ter­tain­ment source.
