The Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice (TTPS) is seek­ing the pub­lic’s as­sis­tance in iden­ti­fy­ing two men re­port­ed­ly in­volved in a vi­o­lent al­ter­ca­tion in Barataria on Fri­day, dur­ing which time one man was stabbed sev­er­al times.

The ap­peal was is­sued yes­ter­day af­ter a video cir­cu­lat­ing on so­cial me­dia ap­peared to show one man re­peat­ed­ly stab­bing an­oth­er.

The TTPS said in­ves­ti­ga­tors were con­tin­u­ing ef­forts to lo­cate both men as of yes­ter­day.

“In­ves­ti­ga­tors are work­ing to es­tab­lish the cir­cum­stances of the in­ci­dent and are ask­ing any­one who can iden­ti­fy the men or pro­vide rel­e­vant in­for­ma­tion to come for­ward,” the po­lice ser­vice said.

The TTPS ex­pressed par­tic­u­lar con­cern for the wel­fare of the in­jured man and urged any­one with in­for­ma­tion to con­tact in­ves­ti­ga­tors.

The po­lice al­so cau­tioned the pub­lic against shar­ing un­ver­i­fied claims about the iden­ti­ties of those in­volved.
