Two firearms and quan­ti­ties of nar­cotics were dis­cov­ered and re­moved from the streets this week, as of­fi­cers con­duct­ed fur­ther in­tel­li­gence-led an­ti-crime ex­er­cis­es across the North­ern and East­ern Di­vi­sions.

In a me­dia re­lease the TTPS said Task Force of­fi­cers of the North East­ern Di­vi­sion, con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise in the Tu­na­puna Po­lice dis­trict be­tween 8 pm and 8:40 pm, on Tues­day 12th Sep­tem­ber, 2023, dur­ing which they found one ri­fle and a quan­ti­ty of am­mu­ni­tion in a bushy area at Noel Trace, St. Au­gus­tine.

Mean­while, in the East­ern Di­vi­sion, Task Force of­fi­cers con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise be­tween 5 am on Mon­day 11th Sep­tem­ber, 2023 and 6 pm, on Tues­day 12th Sep­tem­ber, 2023, dur­ing which they pro­ceed­ed to con­duct a search of an aban­doned struc­ture at North East­ern Set­tle­ment, San­gre Grande.

The search re­sult­ed in one pump-ac­tion shot­gun and a quan­ti­ty of mar­i­jua­na be­ing dis­cov­ered and seized.

Al­so in the East­ern Di­vi­sion, five peo­ple were ar­rest­ed for var­i­ous war­rants dur­ing an ex­er­cise con­duct­ed be­tween 3 am and 6:30 am to­day, in the Ma­yaro dis­trict, by of­fi­cers of the Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment and Task Force. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing in­to the all the mat­ters.
