Two men are in po­lice cus­tody fol­low­ing a swift re­sponse to an armed rob­bery on Mon­day morn­ing along An­duez Trace, Los Iros Beach Road, Erin.

Around 8:15 a.m., a 23-year-old farmer re­port­ed be­ing ap­proached by two armed men while near his gar­den. One sus­pect, armed with a firearm, struck the vic­tim in the face and or­dered him to lie on the ground, while the oth­er searched the vic­tim’s parked white Kia K2700. The men fled on foot with the vic­tim’s blue Sam­sung S10 phone, val­ued at TTD $1,500, and TTD $200 in cash.

Of­fi­cers from the Erin and San­ta Flo­ra Po­lice Sta­tions re­spond­ed quick­ly, con­duct­ing in­ten­sive search­es that led to the ar­rest of two male sus­pects, aged 19 and 21, from Los Ba­jos. The stolen items were re­cov­ered.

The Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice said in­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing and com­mend­ed the rapid re­sponse and co­or­di­na­tion of the of­fi­cers. The TTPS al­so urged res­i­dents to re­main vig­i­lant and re­port any sus­pi­cious ac­tiv­i­ty.
