Two men are in police custody following a swift response to an armed robbery on Monday morning along Anduez Trace, Los Iros Beach Road, Erin.
Around 8:15 a.m., a 23-year-old farmer reported being approached by two armed men while near his garden. One suspect, armed with a firearm, struck the victim in the face and ordered him to lie on the ground, while the other searched the victim’s parked white Kia K2700. The men fled on foot with the victim’s blue Samsung S10 phone, valued at TTD $1,500, and TTD $200 in cash.
Officers from the Erin and Santa Flora Police Stations responded quickly, conducting intensive searches that led to the arrest of two male suspects, aged 19 and 21, from Los Bajos. The stolen items were recovered.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service said investigations are ongoing and commended the rapid response and coordination of the officers. The TTPS also urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
