Two people are in police custody after being caught with cocaine in San Fernando and Mon Repos on Monday, during patrols and a roving roadblock exercise.
The drug finds came within a 24-hour period in the division.
In the first incident, officers attached to the Southern Division Task Force conducted a roving roadblock in Area West between 3 pm and 8 pm, targeting known drug blocks. During the operation, a woman from Mon Repos was arrested for possession of one gram of cocaine. A man was also detained during the roadblock for traffic-related offences.
In a separate case earlier that day, officers on mobile patrol along Hilda Lazzari Terrace, San Fernando, stopped a man who was acting suspiciously.
Police said they found two grams of a substance resembling cocaine in his pocket. He was arrested and later charged with possession of cocaine.
Meanwhile, police arrested a 47-year-old man in connection with a larceny report in La Romaine.
The complainant, a 40-year-old man, told investigators that several power tools, including drills, a mitre saw, and a jigsaw valued at several thousand dollars, were stolen from his premises after being secured on the evening of January 29. The theft was discovered in the early hours of Monday. Police said investigations are ongoing.
