Two peo­ple are in po­lice cus­tody af­ter be­ing caught with co­caine in San Fer­nan­do and Mon Re­pos on Mon­day, dur­ing pa­trols and a rov­ing road­block ex­er­cise.

The drug finds came with­in a 24-hour pe­ri­od in the di­vi­sion.

In the first in­ci­dent, of­fi­cers at­tached to the South­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force con­duct­ed a rov­ing road­block in Area West be­tween 3 pm and 8 pm, tar­get­ing known drug blocks. Dur­ing the op­er­a­tion, a woman from Mon Re­pos was ar­rest­ed for pos­ses­sion of one gram of co­caine. A man was al­so de­tained dur­ing the road­block for traf­fic-re­lat­ed of­fences.

In a sep­a­rate case ear­li­er that day, of­fi­cers on mo­bile pa­trol along Hil­da Laz­zari Ter­race, San Fer­nan­do, stopped a man who was act­ing sus­pi­cious­ly.

Po­lice said they found two grams of a sub­stance re­sem­bling co­caine in his pock­et. He was ar­rest­ed and lat­er charged with pos­ses­sion of co­caine.

Mean­while, po­lice ar­rest­ed a 47-year-old man in con­nec­tion with a lar­ce­ny re­port in La Ro­maine.

The com­plainant, a 40-year-old man, told in­ves­ti­ga­tors that sev­er­al pow­er tools, in­clud­ing drills, a mitre saw, and a jig­saw val­ued at sev­er­al thou­sand dol­lars, were stolen from his premis­es af­ter be­ing se­cured on the evening of Jan­u­ary 29. The theft was dis­cov­ered in the ear­ly hours of Mon­day. Po­lice said in­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing.
