Two men were charged for larceny of motor vehicles in separate incidents as police continue extensive investigations into stolen vehicle reports.
Two vehicles reported stolen were also recovered. Terrence Shellford Johnson, 35, of Sam Boucaud, Santa Cruz was arrested and subsequently charged on Friday. He is the second suspect to be arrested in connection with a silver Toyota Aqua that had been reported stolen in the Central Division in March. The vehicle was seized by officers of the Stolen Vehicles Squad on March 17, 2023.
Johnson, a used car salesman, was granted bail of $100,000 with a surety by Justice of the Peace Stephen Young. He is expected to appear at the Couva Magistrates’ Court on September 21. Earlier this week, officers intercepted a silver Nissan Aqua motor vehicle, with two occupants. Checks revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen from the Western Division. A 20-year-old from Diego Martin and a 22-year-old from Lopinot Road, Arouca were arrested.
The latter, Christian Joshua was charged on Friday.
During a roving exercise conducted in the Division on Friday, a silver Nissan Tiida reported stolen in Barataria was also recovered
at Sparrow Drive, Simeon Road, Petit Valley.
Officers of the St. Joseph CID are continuing investigations after recovering a silver Nissan Sylphy that had been reported stolen in
St. Joseph on Thursday.
During an Operation Blue Line exercise conducted on Friday between 8 and 10 am, based on information received, officers proceeded to Sadoo Trace, El Socorro Extension. A search of the area led to the recovery of the vehicle.
