Two men narrowly escaped a shooting in Morvant on Monday afternoon after a gunman opened fire on the vehicle they were travelling in.
Police reported that around 2.50 pm, the men were driving a silver Nissan Sylphy along Ramier Trace when they saw a man exit a grey Hyundai Accent parked near a mini-mart. The man pulled a firearm and began shooting at their car.
The 29-year-old driver sped away but realised they were being pursued by the gunman, who was now driving the grey Hyundai Accent. The men turned onto Park Trace, off Industrial Lane, where they eventually lost their pursuer.
Upon inspecting the vehicle, the driver found several bullet holes in the trunk, the right side of the rear windshield, the right headlight, front licence plate, and fender.
Morvant CID officers are investigating and are reviewing CCTV footage as part of their enquiries.
