Two men nar­row­ly es­caped a shoot­ing in Mor­vant on Mon­day af­ter­noon af­ter a gun­man opened fire on the ve­hi­cle they were trav­el­ling in.

Po­lice re­port­ed that around 2.50 pm, the men were dri­ving a sil­ver Nis­san Syl­phy along Rami­er Trace when they saw a man ex­it a grey Hyundai Ac­cent parked near a mi­ni-mart. The man pulled a firearm and be­gan shoot­ing at their car.

The 29-year-old dri­ver sped away but re­alised they were be­ing pur­sued by the gun­man, who was now dri­ving the grey Hyundai Ac­cent. The men turned on­to Park Trace, off In­dus­tri­al Lane, where they even­tu­al­ly lost their pur­suer.

Up­on in­spect­ing the ve­hi­cle, the dri­ver found sev­er­al bul­let holes in the trunk, the right side of the rear wind­shield, the right head­light, front li­cence plate, and fend­er.

Mor­vant CID of­fi­cers are in­ves­ti­gat­ing and are re­view­ing CCTV footage as part of their en­quiries.
