Two men were injured in separate incidents in Belmont and Laventille on Tuesday.
In the first incident around 2.30 pm, a 46-year-old of La Horquetta went to Ready Mix Private Road, in the vicinity of the Success Laventille Secondary School to view a vehicle that had been advertised on Facebook Market Place.
It was alleged the suspect approached the victim’s Mazda 4x4 and pointed a gun at him.
Fearing for his life, the victim reportedly drove off as the gunman opened fire on him.
Although he was struck in the back, the victim managed to drive himself to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he was treated and warded in a stable condition.
And in the second incident around 10 pm at Upper St Francois Valley Road, Belmont, a 28-year-old man was allegedly injured during a family dispute.
It was reported the victim had been at home drinking when he went to his in-laws' home which was nearby.
Police said while there, he got into a scuffle with two male relatives.
He later realised he was bleeding from a wound to the stomach but was unable to recall how it was caused.
The victim later reported the matter to officers at the Belmont Police Station, following which he was taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he was treated and listed in a stable condition.
