A shoot­ing in­ci­dent at a home in Ste Madeleine in the ear­ly hours of this morn­ing has left two rel­a­tives dead and two oth­ers in­jured.

The de­ceased are 25-year-old Randy Ram­per­sad and Grace­lyn Ram­ber­an, both of Pe­ter­loo Street, Friend­ship Vil­lage, Ste Madeleine.

Ini­tial re­ports in­di­cate that around 2:25 am, a 42-year-old rel­a­tive was asleep down­stairs in the home when he heard sev­er­al loud ex­plo­sions com­ing from the up­stairs apart­ment.

Short­ly af­ter, he found his cousin, Randy Ram­per­sad, ly­ing on the road bleed­ing from gun­shot wounds. His wife and un­cle al­so were on the road, bleed­ing from gun­shot in­juries.

A neigh­bour took them to hos­pi­tal.

When he went up­stairs, he found his aunt, Grace­lyn Ram­ber­an, mo­tion­less with gun­shot wounds.

Of­fi­cers of the Re­gion Three Homi­cide Bu­reau are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
