Two sisters were beaten and robbed at their mother’s home in south Trinidad on Tuesday.
Police reported that around 8.45 pm, the women, ages 61 and 52, were at the home of their 79-year-old mother at Newbold Street, Mon Repos.
Police said the women were sitting in the living room with the front door open, when three men armed with firearms entered and pointed them at both victims.
One of the suspects cuffed the 52-year-old woman in her head then robbed the women of four cellphones worth $5,700 before the men ran off.
The women reported the matter and police later arrested a 32-year-old man from Herrera Street San Fernando, who is assisting police with their investigations. —Jensen La Vende
