A day after murder victims Jayden Reyes and Abdul Williams were laid to rest, two other men who were killed in a gun attack at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital two Sundays ago, have also been buried.
The funeral service for Kevin King and Jonathan Arjoon took place at the St Martin De Porres RC Church, Gonzales, just as Williams and Reyes’ did a day before.
The four, all from Gonzales, were killed on June 2 after gunmen shot at a group along Lange Street, Gonzales. After the injured were taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital, gunmen attacked them again while on the compound.
When Guardian Media tried to enter the church, relatives said they did not want any media coverage.
Outside the church, mourners either wore black or white jerseys with the names and faces of King and Arjoon.
Police, who kept a close eye on the funeral proceedings, as they patrolled the surrounding areas, believe that King was the main target of the killers.
While outside the church, one woman lamented that it was her brother and “D boss” that were about to be buried.
Since the killing, there has been discussion on improving the security at the hospital to prevent a repeat of the incident.
