As the heat builds up for the 2019 Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment Elec­tion card­ed for De­cem­ber 02, can­di­dates are busy putting all nec­es­sary things in place for the smooth run­ning of their cam­paign in ad­di­tion to their dai­ly walk abouts, meet­ings and speak­ing with con­stituents.

The Unit­ed Na­tion­al Con­gress opened its Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment Cu­mu­to Of­fice at lit­tle Co­ra Road, Cu­mu­to yes­ter­day.

Anil Ma­haraj, the area’s can­di­date for the Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment Elec­tion, said he was con­fi­dent that he is go­ing to win the Cu­mu­to seat. He based it on the re­sponse and sup­port that he has been re­ceiv­ing in his walk­a­bouts in his re­gion, along with sup­port­ers who are join­ing in their num­bers dai­ly.

“I am con­fi­dent that the Cu­mu­to seat will re­turn to the UNC and is one sure in the bag,” he said.

At­tend­ing were Na­tion­al Unit­ed Na­tion­al Con­gress Cam­paign Man­ag­er Fer­oze Khan and oth­er UNC coun­cil­lors.
