Widespread fiery protests in North Trinidad over the recent police killing of three men in Morvant, tricked down to the south yesterday. One road near the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) buildings at Corinth Hills, Ste Madeleine was blocked with burning debris, including tires and a mattress.
The incident which involved a group of men dragging the debris onto Corinth Road and setting it on fire was recorded on cellphones and uploaded to social media.

As the debris began burning around 1.30 pm, the men scampered away. However, the footage has led to the arrest of at least one resident.
Police and the Fire Services responded quickly. The flames were extinguished and the road cleared.
Police officers are trying to identify and locate the other persons involved in the incident.
Regular police patrols were subsequently carried out to prevent a reoccurrence.
