UTT hails appointment of Persad

The Uni­ver­si­ty of Trinidad and To­ba­go (UTT) has con­grat­u­lat­ed Pro­fes­sor Prakash Per­sad on his ap­point­ment as Min­is­ter of Ter­tiary Ed­u­ca­tion and Skills Train­ing, hail­ing his long­stand­ing com­mit­ment.

UTT praised Per­sad’s com­mit­ment to high­er ed­u­ca­tion, un­der­stand­ing of the chal­lenges and op­por­tu­ni­ties with­in the ter­tiary ed­u­ca­tion land­scape of T&T.

The in­sti­tu­tion said in a state­ment on Mon­day af­ter­noon, “As a uni­ver­si­ty ded­i­cat­ed to ad­vanc­ing knowl­edge, fos­ter­ing in­no­va­tion and de­vel­op­ing hu­man cap­i­tal, UTT looks for­ward to sup­port­ing the Min­istry’s ini­tia­tives un­der Min­is­ter Per­sad’s stew­ard­ship. We are con­fi­dent that his tenure will fur­ther strength­en the ter­tiary ed­u­ca­tion sec­tor and em­pow­er cit­i­zens with the skills and com­pe­ten­cies re­quired for a dy­nam­ic and evolv­ing glob­al en­vi­ron­ment.”
