With CAPE exams scheduled for June, some senior Professors at the University of the West Indies at Cave Hill are offering free online revision sessions to students across the Caribbean region.
The Professors say the initiative is designed to give back to students by assisting them in their exam preparations.
Speaking with Guardian Media yesterday, senior lecturer in immunology, Dr Kim Quimby said students are being offered the free classes regardless of the financial status.
“Its to offer any support in any way we can since we have the expertise in these subjects already at the university. The main focus is to reach out to students in anyway we can, certainly we know that there have been interruption in classes due to COVID and we know that there is financial difficulties due to COVID but from our end it was really just an outreach of the university,” Quimby said.
Quimby said revision classes are being offered only in Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Science.
However, she said students as well as their parents have been reaching out requesting that additional subjects such as Physics and Mathematics be considered.
So far students from T&T as well as Jamaica have shown interest in the classes.
