Police are still trying to determine a motive for the murder of a Chaguanas vendor, who was gunned down minutes after leaving a bar in Freeport on Tuesday night.
He was identified as Adrian Nyack, 28, of Roy Clark Trace, Calcutta No 2, Freeport and 15th Street, Edinburgh 500, Chaguanas. Nyack’s killing came three weeks after another Chaguanas vendor was killed.
Police said Nyack left a bar at Old Southern Main Road, St Mary’s Junction, at 10.20 pm, when two men ambushed him. One of the gunmen shot him several times.
Nyack was taken to the Couva District Health Facility where he was treated for gunshot wounds to the back and legs. However, he succumbed to his injuries around 11.29 pm.
On December 18 around 10.45 pm, Mark Harracksingh, 29, of Exchange, Couva, was shot as he left the compound of the Flea Market at Mid Centre Mall, Chaguanas.
Police said Harracksingh and his common-law wife, Akeela Mitchell, were at the southern gate of the facility opposite JMMB Bank when a vehicle approached them. One of the three occupants in the vehicle pointed a firearm at Harracksingh and opened fire killing him.
No one has been arrested for that murder.
