A Venezuelan activist has claimed that a 15 year-old boy who was being held at the Immigration Detention Center in this country was deported to Venezuela without his legal guardians, who are still in this country. Venezuelan activist Yesenia Gonzalez said that the 15 year-old came to this country illegally in March along with his adoptive mother and her children. He was held by officers and reports suggest all charges against him were dropped by a Fyzabad Magistrate because of his age. But the activist said the teen was separated from his legal guardian by authorities here and who received information that he was sent back to Venezuela alone.
The activist said the teenaged boy was diagnosed with malaria and was ill. She said in addition to his illness, he has no one in Venezuela to receive him or take care of him. Gonzalez said his legal guardian is also fearful of being deported back to the conflict filled country. Gonzalez has once again appealed to officials in this country to have compassion for Venezuelans given their plight.
