The Ministry of Health's Chemistry, Food and Drug Division (CFDD) has advised of the voluntary recall of the Artificial Tears Lubricant Eye Drops due to possible contamination.
A release from the health ministry stated, "While this product is not registered for use in Trinidad and Tobago, out of an abundance of caution, the Ministry of Health advises persons who may be in possession of any of the recalled formulas to discontinue use immediately and to return the product to the place of purchase where possible. To date, there have been over fifty (50) reports of adverse events including eye infections and permanent loss of vision."
