The Min­istry of Health's Chem­istry, Food and Drug Di­vi­sion (CFDD) has ad­vised of the vol­un­tary re­call of the Ar­ti­fi­cial Tears Lu­bri­cant Eye Drops due to pos­si­ble con­t­a­m­i­na­tion. 

A re­lease from the health min­istry stat­ed, "While this prod­uct is not reg­is­tered for use in Trinidad and To­ba­go, out of an abun­dance of cau­tion, the Min­istry of Health ad­vis­es per­sons who may be in pos­ses­sion of any of the re­called for­mu­las to dis­con­tin­ue use im­me­di­ate­ly and to re­turn the prod­uct to the place of pur­chase where pos­si­ble. To date, there have been over fifty (50) re­ports of ad­verse events in­clud­ing eye in­fec­tions and per­ma­nent loss of vi­sion."
