Of­fi­cers of the T&T Po­lice Ser­vice con­duct­ed a war­rant op­er­a­tion in the Scar­bor­ough yes­ter­day ar­rest­ing five mi­nors for out­stand­ing war­rants. The op­er­a­tion took place be­tween 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and was co­or­di­nat­ed by In­spec­tor Wil­son and su­per­vised by Sergeant Yorke. The ex­er­cise was car­ried out by of­fi­cers as­signed to the Scar­bor­ough Po­lice Sta­tion.

Dur­ing the op­er­a­tion, of­fi­cers ar­rest­ed a 14-year-old of Cradley Trace, Con­cor­dia, on a charge of As­sault by Beat­ing. A sec­ond 14-year-old of Bon Ac­cord was al­so held on a charge of As­sault by Beat­ing. A third 14-year-old, of Calder Hall, Scar­bor­ough, was tak­en in­to cus­tody, al­so on a charge of As­sault by Beat­ing.

Of­fi­cers fur­ther ar­rest­ed a 16-year-old of Smith­field, Scar­bor­ough, on a charge of As­sault by Beat­ing. Ad­di­tion­al­ly, a 16-year-old of Calder Hall, Scar­bor­ough, was held on a sim­i­lar charge of As­sault by Beat­ing.

All in­di­vid­u­als ar­rest­ed dur­ing the op­er­a­tion are stu­dents. They were tak­en in­to po­lice cus­tody for pro­cess­ing fol­low­ing their ar­rests. The mi­nors are ex­pect­ed to ap­pear be­fore the Ju­ve­nile Court where they will an­swer the re­spec­tive charges laid against them.

The Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice not­ed that en­quiries con­nect­ed to the mat­ters are con­tin­u­ing. The op­er­a­tion formed part of on­go­ing ef­forts in the dis­trict to ex­e­cute out­stand­ing war­rants and en­sure that in­di­vid­u­als with pend­ing court mat­ters are brought be­fore the ap­pro­pri­ate ju­di­cial au­thor­i­ty.
