Officers of the T&T Police Service conducted a warrant operation in the Scarborough yesterday arresting five minors for outstanding warrants. The operation took place between 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and was coordinated by Inspector Wilson and supervised by Sergeant Yorke. The exercise was carried out by officers assigned to the Scarborough Police Station.
During the operation, officers arrested a 14-year-old of Cradley Trace, Concordia, on a charge of Assault by Beating. A second 14-year-old of Bon Accord was also held on a charge of Assault by Beating. A third 14-year-old, of Calder Hall, Scarborough, was taken into custody, also on a charge of Assault by Beating.
Officers further arrested a 16-year-old of Smithfield, Scarborough, on a charge of Assault by Beating. Additionally, a 16-year-old of Calder Hall, Scarborough, was held on a similar charge of Assault by Beating.
All individuals arrested during the operation are students. They were taken into police custody for processing following their arrests. The minors are expected to appear before the Juvenile Court where they will answer the respective charges laid against them.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service noted that enquiries connected to the matters are continuing. The operation formed part of ongoing efforts in the district to execute outstanding warrants and ensure that individuals with pending court matters are brought before the appropriate judicial authority.
