The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has completed temporary road reinstatement works along the west-bound lane of the Beetham Highway, Sea Lots, allowing traffic to move smoothly into Port of Spain.
The work, completed at 12:45 a.m. on today, comes after heavy congestion yesterday morning on the first day of school reopening. Motorists faced significant delays as the temporary roadworks caused traffic to back up along the highway.
Minister of Public Utilities Barry Padarath requested a report from WASA to clarify what transpired during the disruption.
The Authority also confirmed that permanent road restoration is scheduled for Wednesday, September 10, 2025, and assured motorists that these works will not disrupt the normal flow of traffic.
