Re­pair works to the first of two sink­holes at Beetham Gar­dens are un­der­way, the Wa­ter and Sew­er­age Au­thor­i­ty has con­firmed in its lat­est up­date on the is­sue.

Ac­cord­ing to the Au­thor­i­ty, the works at CCC Boule­vard and Main Street, Beetham Gar­dens “have pro­gressed con­sid­er­ably”.

“The pipeline re­place­ment work is well un­der­way with four re­main­ing lengths to be in­stalled, with back­fill­ing of the area al­so in progress,” WASA re­ports in the re­lease.

WASA says the con­trac­tor has es­ti­mat­ed a com­ple­tion date for this phase as Sun­day 18 De­cem­ber 2022.

The sec­ond site is lo­cat­ed at 14th to 17th Main Streets in Beetham Gar­dens.

“The area has been se­cured, and a con­trac­tor is cur­rent­ly be­ing en­gaged,” WASA re­vealed.

The Au­thor­i­ty is urg­ing the pub­lic to ex­er­cise cau­tion when ap­proach­ing the work site, and as­sures that it will is­sue a state­ment on any re­vised traf­fic arrange­ments as the need aris­es.
