The Wa­ter and Sew­er­age Au­thor­i­ty (WASA) said this while ef­fect­ing re­pairs to its 42” pipeline lo­cat­ed in the vicin­i­ty of the San­ta Rosa Race­track, yes­ter­day works were halt­ed due to un­fore­seen health and safe­ty con­cerns.

WASA said in keep­ing with safe­ty best prac­tices, all per­son­nel and equip­ment were re­moved from the site.

The Au­thor­i­ty said this stop­page re­quired fur­ther col­lab­o­ra­tion be­tween the Min­istry of Works and Trans­port, High­ways Di­vi­sion, Bridges De­part­ment and the Au­thor­i­ty.

It said, "At this time, we are con­fi­dent that all health and safe­ty con­cerns have been ad­dressed and up­on com­ple­tion of some struc­tur­al works, the Au­thor­i­ty will be able to re­sume the pipeline re­pair works, which we an­tic­i­pate will be com­plet­ed by noon to­mor­row."

Up­on com­ple­tion, sup­ply will be re­stored to the af­fect­ed zone.
