Police say they expect to make arrests soon following an incident in which a 50-year-old woman was badly beaten and robbed during a home invasion in Macoya.
According to a police report, at about midday, the woman was at her home at Streatham Lodge when two armed men broke in and announced a hold-up.
Police said the woman resisted and was badly beaten. The men subsequently escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, electronic items and jewellery. The woman was treated at the hospital but she did not immediately return to her home and her whereabouts were not disclosed.
