An Arima man is in police custody after allegedly murdering his ex-girlfriend at her Palo Seco home last night.
Tahila St Clair, 27, died while receiving emergency treatment at the Siparia District Health Facility this morning after being severely chopped during an argument hours before.
According to a police report, St Clair called her father in distress, telling him that the suspect was in her house. The father told Santa Flora police that he then heard an argument and his daughter screaming.
PC Plaza and a team of officers then went to the woman’s home and found her bleeding on the floor with chop wounds to her head. She was taken for treatment but died while medical staff were attempting to stabilise her condition so she could be transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital.
Insp Mangroo and Insp Khan visited the scene and a search for made for the suspect, who was found near the scene of the killing.
Detectives of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region Three were at St Clair’s home up to 8 am.
