A Penal bakery attendant is in a critical condition at the San Fernando General Hospital after she was run over by a van and pinned against a wall by a man whom she knew, who then drove off with her two young children.
The incident occurred in front of the children aged two and ten.
Last night, a manhunt was on for a 42-year-old man who has two addresses in San Fernando.
Police said around 7.30 am, the man came to the woman’s house at Penal Rock Road and asked to speak to her.
She handed over the children, but then threw something in the tray of the van. Police said the man drove forward pinning her against a wall.
However, instead of helping her, he then drove off.
Other relatives rushed her to the Siparia Health Facility and then the San Fernando General Hospital where she remains warded in a critical condition.
She suffered an open fracture to her left forearm, internal abdominal bleeding and soft tissue injuries to her chest, neck and back.
