In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing in­to a bomb scare that re­port­ed­ly oc­curred at the TTPost Of­fice lo­cat­ed along the East­ern Main Road in San­gre Grande, on Thurs­day 31 March 2022.

Guardian Me­dia un­der­stands that just af­ter 12 pm, a woman who re­port­ed­ly was un­able to ac­cess the ser­vices she want­ed at the TTPost out­let, al­leged­ly in­di­cat­ed that she had a bomb in her pos­ses­sion and al­leged­ly threat­ened to "bomb up the build­ing".

Al­though the woman ap­peared to be in­tel­lec­tu­al­ly dis­abled, the nec­es­sary pre­cau­tions were tak­en im­me­di­ate­ly.

Staff mem­bers were alert­ed, and the po­lice called in, Guardian Me­dia was told.

A par­ty of po­lice of­fi­cers, along with Fire Ser­vice of­fi­cials re­spond­ed, and to­geth­er with the as­sis­tance of the Ca­nine Unit, car­ried out a thor­ough search of the build­ing.

When Guardian Me­dia vis­it­ed the scene, mem­bers of staff were seen at the Muster Point look­ing on as the of­fi­cers and their po­lice dogs searched the com­pound.

No one com­ment­ed on the in­ci­dent.  How­ev­er, po­lice of­fi­cers on the scene con­firmed the bomb scare and as­sured that thor­ough se­cu­ri­ty checks were made, and the build­ing sub­se­quent­ly cleared.
