A 30-year-old woman was stabbed by an­oth­er woman dur­ing an al­ter­ca­tion at a bar in Clax­ton Bay on Sat­ur­day.

Po­lice said the vic­tim of Lodge Road, Clax­ton Bay, was at Side Bar along the South­ern Main Road around 3 am when she and the sus­pect be­gan ar­gu­ing.

It es­ca­lat­ed in­to an al­ter­ca­tion at the en­trance of the bar, dur­ing which the sus­pect stabbed the vic­tim re­peat­ed­ly with a knife.

The sus­pect then ran off. The vic­tim was tak­en to the Cou­va Dis­trict Hos­pi­tal for treat­ment.

Men robbed $25,000 while pur­chas­ing car from so­cial me­dia

Two men were robbed of $25,000 in cash when they went to pur­chase a car in Siparia which was ad­ver­tised on Face­book.

Po­lice said the vic­tims, a 34-year-old fork­lift op­er­a­tor from Arou­ca and a 34-year-old ac­coun­tant from Ch­agua­nas went to  Ir­win Park Sport­ing Com­plex around 1:30 pm on Sat­ur­day to pur­chase a grey Nis­san hatch­back Ti­da which was ad­ver­tised on Face­book.

When they got to the carpark, they were told to meet the own­er at Sam­daye Dri­ve, Park Street. When they got there two sus­pects, one armed with a gun, took the $25,000 from them as well as a $1,400 blue Red­mi cell phone and a  $2,700 white Sam­sung A31 cell phone.

The sus­pects ran through a near­by track and es­caped. 

PS4 stolen by Face­book ‘buy­er’

An Ari­ma man who made arrange­ments to sell a PS4 Bun­dle via Face­book and lat­er went to Gran Cu­ra­caye, San Juan to con­clude the sale – was robbed of the items by the “buy­er” who lat­er dis­ap­peared in some bush­es.

Po­lice said the 34-year-old vic­tim of Phase 3, Mal­abar post­ed the ad­ver­tise­ment on Face­book Mar­ket­place on Jan­u­ary 25.

He was con­tact­ed by the po­ten­tial buy­er two days lat­er on Jan­u­ary 27 – and the two agreed to meet on Feb­ru­ary 1, at the Croisee, San Juan.

The vic­tim told po­lice he was di­rect­ed to Gran Cu­ra­caye, San Juan, af­ter the sus­pect sent the lo­ca­tion to his phone via What­sApp.

It was al­leged that as he ar­rived at the lo­ca­tion and was at­tempt­ing to park his black Toy­ota Yaris, the sus­pect ap­proached the ve­hi­cle, opened the right rear back door and grabbed the item off the back seat.

As the vic­tim be­gan shout­ing, the sus­pect ran down­hill to­wards an aban­doned struc­ture and dis­ap­peared in­to some near­by bush­es.

The PS4 Bun­dle was val­ued at $ 2,100.

Gun and il­le­gal drugs found

An an­ti-crime op­er­a­tion by of­fi­cers of the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion Task Force (CDTF) Area South on Fri­day re­sult­ed in of­fi­cers re­cov­er­ing one firearm along with a quan­ti­ty of nar­cotics.

The ex­er­cise which was co­or­di­nat­ed by Snr Supt Car­ty, Supt Glodon, ASP Reyes and In­sp Pet­ti, was car­ried out by mem­bers of the CDTF Area South un­der the su­per­vi­sion of Sgt Black­man.

Po­lice said dur­ing the pe­ri­od 5 pm and 10 pm on Jan­u­ary 31, of­fi­cers searched sev­er­al drug blocks in Cou­va and Freeport.

Re­ceiv­ing in­for­ma­tion around 6 pm, of­fi­cers pro­ceed­ed to School Road, Es­per­an­za, where they searched an aban­doned gal­vanised shack and found a rusty coloured bar­rel in which a shot­gun and two bun­dles of mar­i­jua­na had been hid­den.

The mar­i­jua­na which weighed 2.2 ki­los, had an es­ti­mat­ed street val­ue of $20,000.
