A 22-year-old woman remained in police custody yesterday after stabbing her male companion during an argument on Sunday.
The 27-year-old victim of Mahogany Trace, Diego Martin was with the suspect and her mother at their house at Blue Range, St Lucien Road, Diego Martin, when the incident occurred.
Reports indicate the victim was having his breakfast in the front yard around 10:30 am, while the suspect was arguing with someone else upstairs. During that argument the suspect threw water into his food outside.
The victim told police he entered the house and confronted the suspect, and a fight ensued.
Police reported as he turned away, the woman grabbed a knife and stabbed him in the back.
The victim allegedly ran out of the house and sought help from a nearby resident who took him to the St James Medical Complex where he was treated and later warded in a stable condition.
Investigating officers later detained the suspect at her home, and retrieved the knife used in the incident in the kitchen.
