A Wood­land man was robbed of $2,500 in cash when he went to pur­chase two cat­tle that had been ad­ver­tised for sale in an on­line group called Bulls and Cows of Trinidad and To­ba­go.

The 25-year-old of Jack­son Trace, Wood­land, told po­lice he drove his white Nis­san Fron­tier to Pan­go­la Road, Point Fortin, around 9.30 am on Fri­day to meet with two men re­lat­ing to the sale of the an­i­mals.

The vic­tim claimed the sale had been fi­nalised around 7.30 pm the day be­fore via com­mu­ni­ca­tions on Face­book and What­sApp.

Up­on ar­rival at the lo­ca­tion, the vic­tim met two men, fol­low­ing which one pulled out a gun.

The un­armed man took the vic­tim’s pur­ple Sam­sung A15 cell­phone val­ued at $1,500; fol­low­ing this, he searched the van and found $2,400 in cash in the vic­tim’s wal­let, which had been stashed un­der the pas­sen­ger seat.

The sus­pects lat­er ran off and dis­ap­peared in­to the bush­es.

The vic­tim re­port­ed the in­ci­dent to the po­lice.
