Out of the 15 people detained in connection with the alleged plot to disrupt the 2018 Carnival festivities, the majority were released mainly due to writs of habeas corpus filed.

A suspect wanted for the November 2010 murder of Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT) employee Kenny Goddard has been arrested. The 29-year-old man, of Waterhole, Cocorite, was arrested by police officers who used the Carnival season to look for wanted suspects.
