Trinidadians expressed support for Jamaican Olympic gold medallist Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, even as they admitted to being disappointed that T&T's Kelly-Ann Baptiste managed only sixth place in yesterday's women's 100 metre final in London. One man, who gave his name as Bill, said:?"It is a great day for the Caribbean. We are on the world map.
"I?am backing the Caribbean all the way. I am a bit disappointed with Kelly-Ann. But she is right up there too." Clutching a miniature national flag, physical education teacher Keith Thomas, said:?"It is a wonderful day for the Caribbean. Our athletes did us proud. Waving the red, white and black flag, his Guyanese friend Dilroy added:?"I?was backing Kelly-Ann but I?am glad it was Shelly-Ann. It was a hot race. They are among world champions. It is a day for the Caribbean to take a bow."
Abraham Mohan said:?"We are proud of the Caribbean." Soft drink vendor Heywood James, a Guyanese national, said:?"I am 100 per cent Caribbean."
