Let me begin by saying the killing of George Floyd is unacceptable and I believe that all who were part of this gruesome act will face the justice system, George’s life matters.
Yet amid all the rage and the protest a basic truth can evade many and I believe this is something we should never forget. That is, all lives matter in the sight of God.
One scripture verse that I hold so dearly is John 3:16 which many of us can recite by heart “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” His love is towards every human being there are no favourites with Him.
So while the struggle to erase racism in the world, it is important that in doing so we who are in the fight do not become haters of those who we accuse of being racist because of their ethnicity.
In so doing, the very thing we are trying to put down indirectly we are also practicing it. This possibility does exist and no one is immune to this. As I said before all life matters to the creator and the very enthusiasm we show for George Floyd should be seen for everyone. That little child brutality murdered by a family member, that woman gang raped and killed by people in her neighbourhood, etc.
Injustice anywhere, committed to anyone, should be met with a cry from the housetop, because when all is said and done all lives matter.
