I was so happy to see the new HDC buildings scrapped.
Trinidad is a lovely tropical island...why are we destroying it with multi-storey buildings?
It is said that we don’t have a building ‘aesthetic’, that Trinidad doesn’t have an overall look, or plan for its buildings, and this is patently obvious in the bland, ugly boxes that pass for affordable housing.
So let’s get a plan, get a West Indian look that fits our climate and our people.
It is all about change.
I’m not an architect, but I have seen some beautiful homes here, which have obviously been designed by someone with a West Indian flair.
Let’s find them and start anew.
We’ve got to start somewhere.
