We came off of quarantine for 15 days on the ship where we were in our own rooms (one person to a room) and tested twice by health officials in Trinidad and Tobago, which both came back negative.
There were about ten persons who tested positive and they were taken off the ship by Coast Guard and then tested again and was negative and now they are in their own homes but those of us who had two negative tests need more isolation.
They have us living in dorms where there are like six people living and sleeping in the same room with fans blowing, and no where that you can put your personal belongings and keep them safe.
They are saying to you that you are responsible for your own belongings, whenever you go to eat, shower, take a walk for fresh air or sleep. There’s no way that you are safe or healthy here sleeping and living with six persons in a room, if there is to actually have at least one case of COVID-19 then we all are exposed to it so you can come in here healthy and catch the virus and you health and life is at risk.
Also there is no social distancing and you can’t eat any meat on the compound and it has nothing to do with covid-19 health its about the religion of the facility where we are being kept.
I don’t feel secure nor safe health wise under these conditions. I requested better but was never contacted back.
I will be safer if they let me do isolation at home and they check up on me to see if I’m keeping it.
I am seeking legal representation because I strongly believe that my rights, safety and health is at risk.
