When one’s friends are finished with toppling the statue of Christopher Columbus from that high, dusty pillar on Tamarind Square, unfortunately their work would not be quite finished.
For they must leave nothing of Christopher Columbus behind. Therefore their other friends can remind them that when Christopher came upon this island on the 31st of July in the year 1498 he called it Trinidad because of a promise to the Trinity—Trinidad being Trinity in Spanish.
Still these friends can easily find another name for this island so it won’t matter much!
