Former champion, WASA closed to within two points of leaders T&TEC in the race for the 2010 bmobile National Super League title with a 2-1 victory over struggling Queen's Park in a re-scheduled match at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Training Field, Mucurapo, yesterday. Marvin Joseph opened the scoring for the "Water Boys" in the 22nd minute and eight minutes later Jahhan Hernandez made it 2-0 as the title chasers threatened to go on a rampage.
But the Parkites managed to put up a better fight in the second-half and pulled a goal back seven minutes from full-time via Dexter Franklyn. With the win, WASA improved to 35 points from 17 matches, two behind T&TEC which has played two matches less while 1976 Angostura Phoenix is third with 30 points. Matches resume on Sunday with T&TEC, WASA and Phoenix all in action.
